1869, the Rev. Jacob Macdonald, Vicar of Blewbury, reported to the Commissioners
on the employment of children and women in agriculture -
“Some of the cottages, most of them indeed, are very fair, better
inside than their appearance would warrant”. This one certainly looked
rather run down but at least the roof is being thatched. |
