To Blewbury by Rail

The nearest Railway Station is Didcot Parkway. Then take a bus or taxi for the 4 miles to Blewbury.
Didcot Parkway is on the main line between London Paddington, Bristol and South Wales, and is served by fast trains about every hour, journey time about 40 minutes from Paddington. It is a junction with the line to Oxford and Birmingham.
Travellers from the South typically change at Reading.
Travellers from the North may need to change at Oxford.

Blewbury by Road from the North

Most drivers will arrive via the M40.
  1. Leave the M40 at junction 9 take the A34 signposted Oxford.
  2. Continue for 20 miles on the A34, past Oxford until the Didcot Power Station cooling towers are on your left.
  3. Take the Didcot exit slip road (labelled Milton Interchange) from the A34, but choose the fourth exit from the roundabout, away from Didcot, signed Wantage.
  4. Keep on this road for 2 miles, past traffic lights and avoiding a turn right to Wantage.
  5. Turn left at the roundabout onto the A417 towards Harwell and Reading.
  6. Continue on the A417 for 4 miles until you reach Blewbury.

Blewbury by Road from the South

Drivers from the south will normally arrive via the A34 from Newbury. Follow the A34 for Oxford crossing under the M4.
  1. Go north on the A34 from the junction with the M4 for 10 miles.
  2. Take the exit signed "Wantage A4185 (A417)"
  3. At the end of the slip road turn right signed Chilton,
  4. In 50 yards reach a roundabout.
  5. Bear left over the roundabout signed Blewbury.
  6. After 1 mile fork right signed Blewbury.
  7. After 0.5 mile turn right at T junction towards Blewbury and Reading.
  8. Continue for 1.5 miles until you reach Blewbury.

Blewbury by Road from London and the East

It is easier to find the route from the M4 than from the M40.

To Blewbury from the M4 East

  1. Leave the M4 at Junction 12, and take the A4 signed Theale.
  2. Continue for 1 mile on the A4 passing first roundabout.
  3. At second roundabout take the road for Pangbourne.
  4. After 4 miles, reach Pangbourne and keep straight on joining the A329.
  5. After 4 miles, reach Streatley. Cross the traffic lights and then fork left on the A417 signed Wantage.
  6. Continue for 6 miles until you reach Blewbury.

To Blewbury from the M40 East

  1. Leave the M40 at Junction 6, and take the B4009 signed Watlington.
  2. In 2 miles continue through the middle of Watlington, then turn right at T junction signed Wallingford.
  3. In 200 hundred yards bear left still signed Wallingford.
  4. In Benson, follow signs for Wallingford, (right, bear left and then turn left), onto the A423 signed for Wallingford and Reading.
  5. After 1 mile at Crowmarsh roundabout continue on third exit towards Reading.
  6. after 0.5 mile reach a second roundabout and turn right onto Wallingford bypass towards Didcot.
  7. Follow the A4130 towards Didcot for 6 miles.
  8. Cross roundabout by Tescos supermarket, and turn left at next roundabout passing under the railway bridge.
  9. In 400 yards turn left at roundabout signed Blewbury B4016.
  10. Continue for 3 miles until you reach Blewbury.

Blewbury by Road from the West

Drivers from the West may arrive:
  • on the M4, when they should leave at Junction 13, join the A34 signed Oxford, and follow the instructions for those arriving from the South.
  • via Oxford, when they should follow the directions from the North, or
  • on the A417 which passes through Blewbury 10 miles after Wantage.
