Autumn Leaves

The Autumn Leaves is a well established club for older members of the local community providing entertainment and social activities. We hold monthly bingo sessions in the Blewbury Vale Room as stated in the diary, and arrange coach trips in most months of the year. We also enjoy Summer Tea and Christmas Lunch events. The annual membership cost is only £3 and we are always happy to welcome new members.

Aviation Group

Oxfordshire Aviation Group meets on the second Monday of every month at the Marlborough Club, Didcot, often with a guest speaker/slide-show, but always with a warm welcome to like-minded individuals.

Badminton Club

A social club accommodating all standards of Badminton. The club evening is on Thursday 8.00 - 10.30pm in the Village Hall. The Badminton season runs from the beginning of September to the end of April.

Ballet Classes

Downland Dance

Ballet classes are held in the Village Halls of Blewbury and East Hagbourne. Ballet, Tap and Jazz classes are held in The West Wing Studio in Abingdon. Classes are for all ages from 3 to adult. Cricket Club

Blewbury & Upton Cricket Club is a friendly cricket club that plays cricket Sundays and mid-week fixtures against local sides in the Oxfordshire and Berkshire area, as well as touring teams. Dibleys Heritage Residents Association

All residents of Dibleys are automatically members. We exist to foster a community spirit and feeling of belonging socially, meeting with neighbours on a regular basis. We aim to keep members informed of issues that affect them, to get involved with what other relevant groups may be doing, to have a representative voice greater than one would have as an individual, and to campaign for or against important issues affecting members.

Energy Group

The Blewbury Energy Initiative aims to reduce energy consumption in buildings in Blewbury, and to encourage the effective use of renewable energy resources. It is hoped to reduce the amount of the coal, oil, gas and electricity used and to help the global environment.

Players

Blewbury Players

The Blewbury Players have achieved an enviable reputation for presenting amateur drama of the highest standard. Productions range from Ayckbourn to Shakespeare. The Summer Production is in the open air theatre at Orchard Dene (dates and times in Bulletin Diary). There are occasional productions in the Village Hall and at other venues. Notification of auditions appear in the Blewbury Bulletin and the Bulletin Diary, and also in the Blewbury Players web site (see below).

Harwell Amateur Radio Society

Harwell Amateur Radio Society meets on the second Tuesday of the month at Rutherford Appleton Staff Social Club, Chilton. New members are welcome and age is no barrier.

Oxfordshire RAYNET (Radio Amateur Emergency Network)

Blewbury Yacht Club

Join some well qualified and experienced sailors on outings, for example in the Solent. There is no membership fee but costs of boat usage, food (and drink!) are shared. You do not need to be an expert and Royal Yacht Association training may be available.

Tennis Club

The Blewbury Toddler Group is for children 0 - 5 years with parent or carer. Art & Crafts - Refreshments - Story Time - Music - Toy Library It meets every Wednesday during term time from 1pm - 3pm in the Village Hall.

Village Produce Association

The VPA exists to encourage and support all those interested in gardens and their produce. Two shows a year are organised, and there is also a programme of talks and visits. Membership for the year 2006-07 is £3 a family and £1 for Senior Citizens and is available at the Post Office. It brings discounts for members - 5% from Blakes, Didcot, 10% from Woodcote Garden Centre, Woodcote, and 5% from Burford Garden Company on plant products.

Village Society

The Blewbury Village Society looks after many of the village social occasions: Bonfire Night, Santa's sleigh ride, Boxing Day walk, etc. In addition we support village groups and events such as the BVS Environment Group. Everyone in Blewbury is a member. We offer an "umbrella" to other Clubs, Associations and Societies e.g. our insurance can cover appropriate village events (with prior approval of the BVS committee).

Walking

The Walking in Oxfordshire site contains more than 70 Oxfordshire walks to download for free. It also includes details of books, maps and local walking groups.

The Womens Institute organises walks with day trips starting from Blewbury.

There is also a book on walks near Blewbury.

Wine Appreciation Society

Meetings include at least 8 wines and expert guidance to help appreciate them. Absolutely no knowledge of wine is necessary. Membership £12 individual, £15 for a couple. Tickets for each normal meeting cost around £14 a head.
